Tocha A kind of tea gathering that was popular from the end of the Kamakura period to the Muromachi period. It was a tea gathering for the purpose of amusement at which the participants tried to guess the area that tea was grown in and its quality. It was also called incha shobu (tea drinking contest). Ten cups of four different kinds of tea were usually drunk. |
