Yabunouchike A school of Sado whose founder is Yabunouchi Jochi. The original name for its tea room is Enan, the name of the tea room designed by the first generation Kenchu. Kenchu Jochi (1536-1627) was a close friend of Rikyu and became a disciple of Joo, receiving the single character name 'Jo'. He married the younger sister of Furuta Oribe. Each generation has worked at Nishi Hongan-ji temple. The traditions of Sado have been obeyed as family rules. The present Iemoto, Chikuchu Jochi Seiseisai (1936-), is the thirteenth in the family line. |
