Imai Sokyu 1520 - 93. A wealthy merchant of Sakai. He mostly dealt in weapons and ammunition. He learned chanoyu from Takeno Joo and married his daughter. When Oda Nobunaga entered Kyoto he was quick to make gifts of meibutsu utensils to him. He worked with Sen no Rikyu and Tsuda Sogyu as tea master to Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. |
