Seven chanoyu disciples of Rikyu who were military commanders. In the Koshin Gegaki'(Koshin's Summer Writing), written by Rikyu's great grandchild, the fourth Iemoto Koshin Sosa, the seven are given as: Gamo Ujisato, Takayama Ukon, Hosokawa Sansai, Shibayama Kenmotsu, Seta Kamon, Makimura Hyobu and Furuta Oribe. Some tea documents give Oda Uraku instead of Furuta Oribe.
