Enkyo 1 (1744) - Bunka 5 (1808). The eighth Iemoto of Omotesenke. He was Joshinsai's eldest son and became Iemoto at the age of eight. He made every possible effort to rebuild the Iemoto after it burned down in the great fire of Tenmei 8 (1788). In Kansei 1 (1789) he held the 200th anniversary memorial tea gathering for Rikyu. After retiring at the age of 60 he took the name 'Sotan'.
