Born in Showa 13 (1938). The fourteenth Iemoto of Omotesenke. He is the eldest son of the thirteenth Iemoto, Sokuchusai. In Heisei 2 (1990) he held the 400th anniversary memorial services and tea gatherings for Rikyu.
