Sotei-gakoi

In contrast to the 'Doan-gakoi' which has daimegiri (the ro is cut into the mat adjacent to the host's mat), a mukogiri tea room (the ro is within the host's tatami) was called 'Sotei-gakoi'. In both kinds of tea room there is the special feature of a partitioning wall with an arched opening between the guest's room and the room in which tea is prepared.
