The Northern California Region was founded in 1970. We are incorporated as a not-for-profit, public benefit, educational corporation, and, as such, donations are tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.

Public Events for 2022

March 13

Rikyu-ki, memorial tea for Sen-no-Rikyu.



April

As a part of the annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival, Omotesenke Domonkai will be demonstrating the “Way of Tea.” The event is Open to general public. Address: 1830 Sutter St., San Francisco. Four session will be held.

Workshop at Kansoan in Nichibeikai Building.



September 11

Tennen-ki, memorial tea for Joshinsai, will be held at Kansoan in Nichibeikai building in San Francisco.



November 13

“Robiraki Chakai” will be held at the Nichibeikai tea room, Kansoan, and the general public is invited.



Public Events for 2022
In addition to the activities listed above, there are many public and private events hosted by the members of our organization. We exist, in part, to support their endeavors to extend the practice of the Omotesenke Way of Tea but only official activities can be listed here.


Becoming a member of the Northern California Region
If you wish to learn the Omotesenke way of tea, we will be happy to help you find a teacher. If you are already an Omotesenke student, you can join the Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California Region through one of our teachers, or by contacting our office.

Please understand that the office staff can only answer administrative questions. Questions about tea procedures etc. should be directed to your teacher. Questions about matters involving the head office, grand master, or anything else about Omotesenke should be directed to the head office in Kyoto.
