The most significant event of the two-day celebration was the kencha
shiki. This is the third kencha shiki held in Hawaii in memory of
military personnel and civilians who passed away in World War II. A
special note about these kencha is that over the 70 years since the
end of World War II, three generations of Iemoto offered kencha tea at
three important locations, using the same set of two tenmoku chawan.
2日間の記念行事でもっとも重要な催しは、献茶式でした。第二次世界大戦の戦没者と犠牲者を追悼するハワイでの三度目の献茶式です。特筆すべきは、終戦から70年、この間、家元が三世代にわたり、三つの重要な場所で、いずれも同じ天目茶碗を用いてお茶を献じられたことでしょう。
